    I decree this is summer.
I will no longer accept non-summer weather.

    The End.

(we'll see how this works out, but I figure it's worth a try)

    Two races, no incidents
I could go into a long breakdown of how the races went, but I know that would be boring. There's no great exciting video, really. But I did pass a few people for position on track, and did better than I did at Infineon, so in the end I'm pretty happy, although there is still a lot to learn!

    *CAT DIARY*

    Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed
hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the
rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to
keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of
    escape.

In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their
feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly
demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending
comments about what a "good little hunter" I am.
    Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was
placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However,
I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my
confinement was due to the power of "allergies."
I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my
tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this
again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.

The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and
seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the
guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My
captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell,
    so he is safe.

    For now...

    Race weekend coming...
Not much else to say about that. Preparing mentally for the most part, running endless laps in my head. I've noticed I'm quicker in my head. And the tires provide more grip.

    The Kindle is definitely cool
Despite the high cost of buying one, the utility of this e-book reader is already evident. It makes for a lot less clutter, and wasted paper (i.e., the daily paper) -- and it is just as easy to read as conventional paper. I could really end up reading a lot more books with this thing...

    Kindle so far...
Definitely neat. The text is very legible. For books, the switching between pages isn't bad at all. For using it to read the newspaper, I'm not as sold, because the selector wheel has to be pushed inward to choose each article (since I tend to read only some of the articles, not every single one)...but it's not bad.

For true home "digital newspaper" use it'd be ideal if the screen were larger, but since the target is as a book reader, the screen -- which rather cleanly emulates a paperback book -- is the right size.

    Pope Benedict acts wisely?
While I completely understand the visiting and praying at Ground Zero in New York, I'm less clear on the actual act of consecrating the site itself. At least to my understanding, that's a deeply religious act. One could argue that it means that the Catholics who died there are now "buried" on sacred ground, but what about the others? Traditionally (that is, with regards to a cemetary), they have been rejected from being buried there.

    "Farce of the Penguins"

    Death of a Legend...
Charlton Heston will be missed. He was both a pretty decent actor and a far better man.
